Artist Statement

For me, the best part of being an artist is the ability to experience a broad range of emotions and transform them into a visual language. Through painting, printmaking, and mixed media, I explore the conversations we have with ourselves—our conflicts, reconciliations, and the ways we make sense of the world. The most rewarding part of the process is seeing those ideas take on new meaning through the eyes of the viewer.

Since coming to the United States in 1999, I have been drawn to contemporary materials such as plastic, paper acetate, vinyl, fabric, and Mylar. I enjoy combining these materials with acrylics, gouache, and ink, allowing organic movement and spontaneity to exist within structured compositions. Through light, transparency, and layered surfaces, I explore the themes that continue to drive my work: time, change, and movement.

My ongoing series of paintings, drawings, and three-dimensional works often draw inspiration from maps, symbols, grids, dots, and lines. Using these visual elements, I investigate the psychological and cultural divisions that shape how we see the world, creating a dialogue between structure and freedom, order and transformation.
