NON-PROFIT ART GALLERY

Welcome to the Bank Art Gallery, a nonprofit space dedicated to showcasing the rich diversity of artistic talent from the Hudson Valley and beyond. As part of our mission, we believe in fostering creativity across a multitude of mediums—from painting and sculpture to photography, mixed media, and more—while bringing art and culture into the heart of our community. Housed in a historic former bank building, the gallery serves as both a symbol of Newburgh’s evolving landscape and a beacon for artists seeking a platform for expression.

Through rotating exhibitions, workshops, and collaborative events, the Bank Art Gallery aims to nurture an inclusive space where artists and art lovers alike can explore new ideas, connect with their creative passions, and experience the transformative power of art.

About.

Constructed in 1924, the historic building that once housed the Newburgh Savings Bank is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year. Located at the intersection of Broadway and Liberty Street in the city center, the building itself is a work of art. Spanning three levels and totaling 13,000 square feet, it features exquisite marble walls and floors, arched ceilings, and impressive vaults. Designed by the renowned Chicago firm Weary and Alford, the interior showcases a plaster ceiling depicting significant moments in mid-Hudson history. A massive vault and Renaissance-style bronze elevator doors in the lobby remain as testaments to its rich heritage. Now revitalized as the Bank Arts Center by the Doering Foundation, this iconic structure continues to inspire and serve the community.
