Hudson River Sculpture Walk
Transforming Newburgh’s waterfront into an evolving outdoor destination for public art, the Hudson River Sculpture Walk brings large scale sculpture to the banks of the Hudson River. This growing initiative connects art, community and place, creating an experience that is free and accessible to everyone.
PHASE ONE: THE MARMENTINI LIVING MUSEUM
The Hudson River Sculpture Walk begins with the Marmentini Living Museum, an evolving outdoor environment where monumental sculpture, the creative process and the Hudson River come together.
The Living Museum offers visitors an opportunity to experience the work of sculptor Ray Marmentini in a setting unlike a traditional museum or gallery. Monumental marble sculptures are presented alongside works in progress, drawings, sketches and elements of the artist’s working environment. Visitors may also have the opportunity to see Marmentini actively working on new sculptures, offering a rare look at the creative process as it unfolds.
At the center of Phase One is Palale Eye, Marmentini’s first completed monumental sculpture created from the 24 tons of Vermont marble brought to the site.
The Living Museum will continue to evolve as new works are created and installed, making each visit an opportunity to experience the site as it grows and changes.

Following the unveiling, the Marmentini Living Museum will be open by appointment only through 2026. Regular public access will begin with the next phase of the Hudson River Sculpture Walk in 2027.

PHASE TWO: EXPANDING THE SCULPTURE WALK • 2027
Beginning in 2027, the Hudson River Sculpture Walk will enter its second phase, expanding beyond the Marmentini Living Museum and bringing additional monumental works to Newburgh’s waterfront.
Phase Two will introduce sculptures by additional artists, creating a growing outdoor collection along the Hudson River and building upon the foundation established by the Living Museum.
As the Sculpture Walk continues to develop, new works, artists and installations will be introduced, creating an evolving public art destination that visitors can experience again and again.
More details about Phase Two and participating artists will be announced as the project develops.
