Mixed Material Assemblage Workshop with Joseph Eschenberg
Saturday, October 17
1–3 PM
$20 per person
Step inside the Vault and create alongside Joseph Eschenberg, Bank Art Gallery’s current Vault Solo featured artist.
Joseph has spent years working with mixed materials, found objects and assemblage, transforming ordinary and discarded pieces into unexpected works of art. For Art in a Box, he’ll share that process with participants and guide them through creating an assemblage of their own.
Each participant will work on a 10 × 10 pine box, building a one of a kind composition using found objects, keepsakes, upcycled materials and other unexpected elements. Bring a few small objects of your own if you’d like to make your piece more personal. Additional materials will also be available during the workshop.
Your finished assemblage is yours to take home.
The workshop is inspired by the assemblage work of Louise Nevelson and Joseph’s own approach to finding new possibilities in everyday materials.
All ages are welcome. No previous art experience is necessary.
Space is limited, so RSVP is strongly encouraged. Walk ins are welcome as space allows.
