Kelly Edwards

About the Artist

Kelly Edwards is a watercolor and mixed media artist whose work is inspired by the beauty of nature, with a focus on florals as a reflection of life in all its stages—growth, imperfection, and renewal.

Drawn to art as a way to soften her instinct for control, Kelly embraces the unpredictability of watercolor, allowing each piece to evolve through a balance of intention and spontaneity. Influenced by expressionism and Art Nouveau, her work combines fluid movement with delicate structure.

Her artwork has been exhibited at Arbor Gallery in Carmel, NY, LAND Gallery in Pawling, NY, and in group shows at Emerge Gallery in Saugerties, NY, and Botanica Grove in Brooklyn, NY. She has also been a featured artist at the Putnam Arts Council. She is the owner and curator of Arbor Gallery in Carmel, NY, where she is committed to fostering meaningful connections through art and supporting a vibrant creative community.

Artist Statement

These pieces are a selection of work from a very personal collection highlighting the process of acceptance of oneself through various stages of life. Even during my younger years, traditionally seen as the peak of one’s beauty, I never really felt at ease in my own skin. My body and sense of self has been marred and warped by lung surgery and motherhood, and yet, it has been capable, adaptable and strong throughout and deserving of self-appreciation. I have included a few dried florals that went along with the collection. If you're interested in other work, I would be happy to send that along as well.
