Artist Statement

Making art in a variety of mediums has been my practice throughout my career. I’m inspired by what I see while I walk my dog: a hydrant faded to a deep washy pink, the striations in a stack of boulders on my neighbor’s lawn, and the perfectly imperfect patterns in my dog’s wavy coat. Using household containers such as spice “shakers” to make splatters, or a mayonnaise squeeze bottle to create just the right plop of paint, I’m always looking for new ways to make unique gestures with paint.
