Artist Statement
Over the past decade, I have developed a body of work titled Content & Controlled, which spans both works on paper and canvas. My artistic approach breaks away from conventional methods, as I eschew the traditional paintbrush in favor of a rubber roller to cover the surface which is then outlined to form different patterns. The pressure applied to the roller, varying with each gesture, creates intricate, layered patterns that are both controlled and intuitive. This technique results in unique textures and forms that evoke a sense of fluidity and rhythm, inviting viewers into a deeply meditative experience. The works in Content & Controlled reflect my interest in how repetitive actions can influence perception and create a quiet, contemplative space.
