Tiffany Franklyn

About the Artist

Tiffany Franklyn is a New York–based multidisciplinary artist working in mixed media, collage, and painting. Her work explores nature, perception, and emotional reflection, inviting viewers to slow down and notice layered meaning in simple moments.

Her visual language is rooted in fragmentation and reconstruction. Up close, her pieces often appear as abstracted forms or individual “puzzle pieces,” but from a distance they come together as cohesive images. This shift in perspective reflects her interest in how small details build a larger sense of understanding and connection.

Guided by a quiet, observant nature, Tiffany’s practice embraces subtlety and restraint, creating work that feels intimate and reflective—where meaning reveals itself gradually through patience and attention.

In addition to her studio practice, she works through tactile processes that emphasize care and intention. Her work encourages grounding, curiosity, and presence, inviting viewers to reconnect with observation and the natural rhythm of looking closely.

Artist Statement

My work is about slowing down and learning how to see both the world around me and myself within it.

I’m drawn to small, quiet moments: the way light touches leaves, the feeling of rest, the presence of something natural and grounding. Through my process, I break images into fragments and rebuild them, creating compositions that require both closeness and distance to fully understand. What may feel unclear or abstract up close becomes more complete when you step back. That shift in perspective is important to me it reflects how I experience growth, healing, and identity.

As someone with an Afro-Caribbean background, I’m deeply interested in how culture, memory, and environment shape the way we see beauty. My work is a way of honoring that connection while also creating space for reflection and rest. I want my pieces to feel like a pause a moment where you can breathe, observe, and find something meaningful, even if it’s small.

Ultimately, my goal is to create work that feels grounding and alive. Work that reminds people that beauty isn’t always obvious it’s something you discover when you take the time to really look.
