Yael holds a BFA from George Washington University, and studied drawing and painting at New York Studio School, Art Students League, NYC; Corcoran School of Art, Washington Studio School, Washington, DC. A painter and mixed-media artist, designer and Breath-Body-Mind teacher, she lives and practices art in NYC, painting in oil, watercolor and pastel. Her mixed media work explores fiber and text-based art using repurposed materials (fiber, thread, hair, cheesecloth, earth, beads, leather gloves). She doesn’t define her practice as social justice, but one can’t help recognizing concerns for the environment and women’s rights in her work.
Her art was included in shows at Lyman Allyn Art Museum, Cummings Art Gallery/Connecticut College, Yale Divinity School, Creative Arts Workshop, CT; LIC Arts/Factory Gallery, 440 Gallery, La Bodega Gallery, Heller Museum, NYC; Drawing Rooms, Jersey City, NJ. Public and private collections include Thomson Financial, Robert Jackson (NY State Senator), Chesapeake Group, NYC; Columbia Hospital for Women, Charlie McBride & Associates, Washington, DC. |
