Nansi Lent

Nansi T. Lent is a painter and photographer based in Rhinebeck, NY, with a background in photography and arts administration. She holds a BA in Studio Art from Boston College, an MA in Visual Arts Administration from NYU. A lifelong artist, since 2018 her current work is broadly associated with Asemic Writing. Across media, her work blends ancient symbols with modern abstraction to explore language, the unconscious, and the urge to write as the legacy of handwriting fades into digital code. She has widely exhibited in the Northeast and beyond over the past decade, in 90 plus shows, and is active in the arts community. Lent founded Womenswork.art in 2018 in Poughkeepsie, NY; served on the board of The National Association of Women Artists; is an active member of The Woodstock Artists Association and Museum, joining the board in January 2025. She has curated and/or juried numerous shows and has work in several private collections. She is represented by BAU Gallery in Beacon.
