Resident Artist: Salvatore Trigila
Salvatore Trigila has prepared an exhibition of paintings and drawings depicting nineteenth century buildings of Melbourne. Through his art Salvatore hopes to awaken the urban community (particularly daily visitors) to the presence and beauty of these buildings, that cannot ever be taken for granted.
Whilst Melbourne offers our community a panorama of landscapes and gardens it also showcases these buildings to provide a solidity and charm of yesteryear, when the wealth from the gold rush impacted on our city skyline. He has juxtaposed these early buildings with modern skyscrapers, thus providing us with an interesting glimpse of our "Golden City". Read more>>
